History of New Balance

William Riley founded New Balance in 1906. He wanted to create and design a product that increased balance, an idea that came from him as he watched his chickens. He found that chickens have three-toed feet which provides perfect balance. Riley wanted to replicate this in his product. This inspired his first-ever shoes, which featured flexible arch support and three support points.

In 1960 New Balance launched their first-ever running shoe ‘The Trackstar’ which came with different width fittings. However, in 1972 Jim Davis bought the company, expanded operations and decided to focus on great products, customer service, and staying committed to unique customer shoe preferences.

Since that day New Balance has continued to deliver on its promise and create quality shoes, clothing, and accessories.
